Dear Brother and Sister Thompson:
I wanted to write and let you know your son; Elder Thompson has arrived safely in the mission field from the MTC. The missionaries have a spirit about them that I am honored to be associated with. On our way to the mission home we drove past the Denver Temple and took a picture of Elder Thompson with Sister Christison and myself to share with you. He will be a wonderful missionary and do a tremendous work while serving the Lord in the Colorado Denver South Mission.
We encourage you to write or email weekly and to keep them uplifting and encouraging. Positive communication and love from home will help him to stay focused on the Lord's work. As you send your love and prayers he will be blessed and learn to love and serve the people here.
Missionary work is a rewarding experience. We hope you will feel the blessings of your son's service. It will be one of the greatest experiences of his life. As we work together to build the kingdom of God on earth we will take car of him and do all that we can to hlep him be a successful and happy missionary.
