Dear Family:
That is so crazy that you know where my church is. So I guess you know that my companion is Elder Palmer. He is a really cool guy and a good trainer. He is from California and has been here for about 3 transfers. He left for his mission on December 16. I think that he was going to go to Mongolia but he could not get a Visa so he was in the MTC for 14 weeks ,crazy, I would have died ha-ha. So he is in Colorado and loves it.
My church building is way cool. The ward is really small, there are only about 40 active people, really small.
It was great to talk to you at the airport. The plane ride was cool, I guess. Plane was really small. I sat next to a guy from Utah that was a manager for a company that made artificial shoulders and hips. He was really nice and he has a son going into the MTC soon.
So we got there and we meet President and his wife and the assistants. All very nice. I got to ride with President to the temple to get our pictures taken. After that we went to the mission office (that’s what we Google mapped) and had orientation. After that we went to the mission home and had dinner. It is a really nice home but it reminded me of Aunt Holly’s old house. President reminded me of Mark and Sister Christison like Aunt Holly in a way, it was crazy. So after dinner we went to a baptism-- guess where-- at the Washington Park ward. It was Elder Palmer (my trainer) and Elder Trust’s baptism. They were baptizing Brett Jackson. He is a 6'4'' 25 year old black guy. So not knowing that this was going to be my ward the baptism was really cool. It was Elder Palmer’s first and Elder Trust’s second.
After the baptism we went back to the mission home and went to sleep. In the morning we went to transfer meeting and I get to meet Elder Palmer. I got to go and see where I live. I live in an apartment on the 5th and top floor. I am just outside of downtown and if the trees weren’t in the way I could see it from my window. It is way different from home. There is a street that is a block away that is really crazy it has a lot of bad stuff on it ha-ha but there are a lot of people to talk to.
There is a lot of diversity in my area I could go and knock on trailers or I could go and knock on mansions (which I have done) ha-ha. So I have to go soon but I am doing well. Tracting isn’t very much fun but we have to do it because we don’t really have any true investigators so we tract all most all day long. My bike is pretty cool. I got different tires and lock. I got to meet my ward on Sunday they were all really cool and I got to meet Brett, too, and I helped confirm him. It was really cool. I have to write to the President. And tell Tucker to send me a letter. I love you lots and kind of miss you ha-ha.
